Marvel Rivals Season 9.5 Cuts the PC Install by About 40GB

Marvel Rivals is preparing a major storage overhaul for Season 9.5. The update repackages and compresses the game's texture assets without reducing visual fidelity, according to creative director Guangyun Chen. On PlayStation 5 and Xbox, the final installation is expected to shrink by roughly 15GB from its current size of about 73GB. The PC version receives the larger saving, dropping by around 40GB, or more than half of its previous footprint. Players should expect one unusually large update first because the entire package must be downloaded again before the smaller final install appears. The Season 9.5 update is scheduled for August 7. The change should be especially welcome for players managing limited SSD space, although the initial download may require some planning.
