Final Fantasy 14 Arrives on Switch 2 with a Large Free Trial and 117GB Download

Final Fantasy 14 is now available on Switch 2 with a free trial covering the base game plus Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers. Trial players can progress to level 80, although PvP, Ultimate Raids, and some social features remain restricted. Access requires Nintendo and Square Enix accounts, but a Nintendo Switch Online subscription is not necessary. Square Enix is also waiving subscription fees for roughly one month after launch. The standard 30-day period included when registering a new platform follows that window, after which the Switch 2 edition needs its own subscription. Storage is the main practical concern: the trial download is approximately 117.2GB, consuming a substantial share of the console's 256GB internal capacity.
