PlayStation 5 Adds Free Ad-Supported Live TV and Movie Streaming Service

Sony has unexpectedly launched a free ad-supported streaming TV service directly on PlayStation 5 consoles for users located in the United States. The new service, accessible via a dedicated Live TV on PS5 icon within the Media tab, grants players access to over 100 live television channels as well as an extensive library of on-demand content without requiring a subscription. Powered by Sony Pictures Television, the entertainment offering spans breaking news, sports, feature films, TV series, and anime programming. Console owners simply need to sign in with their existing PlayStation accounts to gain instant access to the stream catalog. The lineup features content from various channels including MovieSphere, FilmRise Free Movies, 50 Cent Action, and Cinevault, featuring hit shows such as The Walking Dead. This addition builds upon Sony's efforts to expand non-gaming media options on PS5.
