Rockstar Scraps Classic Sprinting Mechanic for Modern Control Scheme in GTA 6

Rockstar Games is modernizing the control mechanics in Grand Theft Auto 6 by doing away with the franchise's long-standing button-mashing sprint system. As revealed by content creator MikeShowSha, players will no longer need to repeatedly press a face button to run; instead, sprinting will now be mapped to clicking the left analog stick, aligning the game with contemporary movement standards found across the action genre. This adjustment aims to improve gameplay fluidity and muscle memory comfort for players returning to the franchise after years. Alongside this control update, GTA 6 is set to feature a massive map roughly three times larger than Red Dead Redemption 2, a revised Criminal Profile system, and a physical fitness mechanic that impacts character stamina and appearance. The highly anticipated title arrives on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
